  • Quinze galerias portuguesas participam na ARCOmadrid 2018
    Além de artistas e reconhecidos profissionais do setor provenientes de Portugal

    Um total de 15 galerias portuguesas participará na ARCOmadrid 2018 que, organizada pela IFEMA, se realiza de 21 a 25 de fevereiro na Feira de Madrid. A elas juntar-se-ão profissionais de arte contemporânea portuguesa com intervenções no Fórum e nos Encontros Profissionais.

    A maioria das galerias portuguesas que estarão presentes na Feira participará no Programa Geral. De Lisboa assistirão oito: 3+1 ARTE CONTEMPORÂNEA; VERA CORTÊS; BAGINSKI, GALERIA/PROJECTOS; CAROLINE PAGÉS; CRISTINA GUERRA CONTEMPORARY ART; FILOMENA SOARES; BRUNO MURIAS e PEDRO CERA, e do Porto três: PEDRO OLIVEIRA; NUNO CENTENO e QUADRADO AZUL, esta última também com sede na capital.
  • ARCOmadrid 2018 reactivates collecting
    As a novelty, and in keeping with its innovative vocation, this year's event sees a new section open on The Future, a concept that will stretch to the Forum and other spaces around the city, with exhibitions also to be held at Museo Thyssen Bornemisza, the Matadero Madrid, CA2M and CentroCentro

    A total of 208 galleries from 29 countries are to take part: 160 make up the General Programme, to which must be added the What is Going to Happen is not the Future, but What we are Going to Do section, with a selection of 19 galleries; Dialogues, with 13 and Opening, with 19

    With a view to inspiring potential new collectors, ARCO has come up with several initiatives within the framework of the #mecomprounaobra programme
  • Sustainability stars “The III Solán de Cabras Art Award”
    ARCOmadrid 2018


    •The award’s aim is to give recognition to an artist career whose work is linked with the field of Sustainability.

    •Submissions will close January the 30th for artists above 18 year old, represented by galleries taking part in ARCOmadrid 2018.

    •This recognition provides a platform to showcase the artist´s work as well as raising awareness abouts Sustainability.

  • illycaffè awards young artists from LatinAmerica in ARCOmadrid2018
    illycaffè, once more time and after eleven years, keeps supporting young artists, whose artwork will be represented in ARCOmadrid2018.

    •An independent jury formed by art commissioner Adriano Pedrosa and María Inés Rodríguez, along with illy’s Art Director Carlo Bach, will reckon the work of Latinamerican artists, born from 1970 onwards.

    •illycaffè creates #illyWalk initiative, a route amongst twenty bars, restaurants and hotels of Madrid city centre, where ARCO visitors can enjoy a free illy espresso during the dates of the art fair, from February 25th to 21st.

    •illycaffè, is the coffee partner of ARCOmadrid, for 14 years and there will be a tasting area in pavilion 7, VIP Area and will manage a coffee shop in the food área of pavilion 9.

    •In the mark of 25 years of illy in Spain, the complete illy art collection of designed cups by 111 artists will be shown for the first time in Spain at El Corte Ingles de Pozuelo, Madrid.

    The Alicia Koplowitz Collection - Grupo Omega Capital; Col.lecció Per Amor a l'Art; Armando Martins Collection; Ella Fontanals Cisneros Collection; Luis Paulo Montenegro Collection; Collection of Latin American Art, The Museum of Fine Arts Houston, are the winners on this occasion

    Fundación ARCO, promoted by IFEMA, has awarded the "A" Awards for Collecting. In this twenty-second edition, six awards that acknowledge the artistic value of collectors and institutions' collections were given, as well as in recognition of their work in supporting the dissemination of contemporary art.
  • Architecture firm CUARTO INTERIOR will design the VIP Lounge at ARCOmadrid 2018
    ARCOmadrid 2018 - 21/25 February

    The project by Madrid-based firm CUARTO INTERIOR won the 6th VIP Lounge Design Contest of ARCOmadrid 2018, an invite-only competition promoted by AD magazine and the Fair.

    The contestants—Cuarto Interior, Studio Madrid in Love and Paloma Cañizares—submitted extremely high-level, professional projects. In the end, the decision of the jury, made up of Íñigo Navarro, from the Leandro Navarro gallery; Belén Domecq, interior designer; Ignacio Vicens, architect; Sandra Segimón, from the Sushita restaurant chain; Enric Pastor, director of AD magazine; Sofía Alonso, from Ifema, and Carlos Urroz, director of ARCO, was announced after a comprehensive analysis of each proposal.

    The artist Belén Uriel has won the 6th Audemars Piguet Award for the production of a work of art at ARCOmadrid 2018. Her work, En Dandanah, is a project presented by the Lisbon gallery Madragoa, and will be exhibited at the Audemars Piguet section of the Fair, held from 21 to 25 February

    •In line with its vocation for constant research and innovation, this year the Fair will not hinge on a guest country, but rather on a concept: The Future; an exhibition programme and a unique design, that will encompass galleries and artists from different generations and geographic areas.

    •With a total of 211 galleries from 29 countries, 160 make up the General Programme, in addition to the curated sections: “The future is not what’s going to happen, but what we’re going to do”, with a selection of 20 galleries; Dialogues, with 14 and Opening, with 19.

    The line of research pursued at ARCOmadrid 2018 will not be a guest country or region, but a concept: The Future. This section enjoys the support of CNP Partners, and will present a selection of 20 galleries, in addition to a programme of events curated by Chus Martínez, Rosa Lleó and Elise Lammer.
