  • NEW FOR FITUR 2019
    The major international tourism event, organised by IFEMA, will be held from 23 to 27 January 2019 at Feria de Madrid.

    The trade fair is expanding its exhibition area to incorporate Pavilion 2, which will be the showcase for Tourist Destinations in the Middle East, as well as venturing further into segmentation with a new section specifically geared toward film tourism.

    One of the main areas of focus at FITUR 2019 will be knowledge and know-how, best represented through its programme of seminars and activities, organised in partnership with major national and international entities in the tourism sector.
    •Records were also broken for trade attendance, with 140,120 representatives from all over the world, company participation, with more than 10,000 companies from 165 countries, and exhibition space, with 65,000 m2

    •The Trade Fair’s largest growth was seen in international participation (54% of the total), an increase of 13%, led by Africa (21%), Asia Pacific (19%) and Europe (15%)

    •An impressive schedule of business meetings consolidated FITUR’s position as the leading business forum for the global tourism industry, with more than 6,800 B2B meetings scheduled with international buyers and more than 38,000 meetings requested online. While all of these were organised by FITUR, thousands of bilateral meetings also took place at the stands

    •FITUR also increased its economic impact on Madrid to the value of €260 million, with hotels at full capacity and more than 200 thousand evening activities accounting for €14.2 million
  • The Assisted Reproduction Unit at Vithas Perpetuo International Hospital is the first to receive new National and European Accreditation

    This year, FITUR joins the Spanish Confederation of Travel Agencies, CEAV , and Doctors Without Borders, MSF, to promote the "" campaign. A collaboration designed for the promotion of this initiative through the different communication platforms for the great international event of the Tourism sector, organized by IFEMA from January 17 to 21, as well as its dissemination among FITUR visitors, providing a space at the trade fair to boost the campaign and to achieve the challenge they have proposed: get enough support to fill 100 humanitarian aid planes.

  • The world tourism industry gathers around the most technological staging of FITUR
    The Trade Show has grown by 8%, in line with the good moment that the world tourism sector is enjoying and with the record figures in Spain.

    International participation has grown by 13%, and includes new countries and new official representations. There has also been a growth in the participation of national representations (3%) and of technological firms (16%).

    India will be the FITUR Partner and will be the fifth country by presence in the Trade Show.

    FITUR will be breaking ground as an ‘Augmented Trade Show’, since it will premiere the development of a set of tourist and trade show management apps. They will deploy their functionalities with 5G technology in the near future.

    The strategy of segmentation has added the new FITUR FESTIVALS to its monographic sections, in response to the growing specialisation and the search for new market niches.
    The Trade Show will be generating 260 million euros over its five days, and will strengthen the various sectors connected to tourism in Madrid.

    IFEMA kicks off the international schedule of tourism trade fairs with FITUR 2018, the great business and professional meeting platform that will present the latest proposals, destinations and news of world tourism in Madrid between 17th-21st January. Like every year, this staging will allow agents from this industry to establish the lines of work that will set the programme for the whole year. Many business meetings will be held and contacts and business exchanges will be made.
