  • The 8th edition of FRUIT ATTRACTION 2016 is over, after proving that it is one of the sector's main international events.
    Organised by IFEMA and FEPEX, the trade fair took place from 5 to 7 October.
    At the 8th edition, a total of 1,238 exhibitor companies from 25 countries took part, representing an increase of 20%, and 58,150 trade professionals from 102 countries, registering growth of 18% over the previous year

    Fruit Attraction 2016 is over, after the 8th edition proved that this is one of the main international events in the fruit and vegetable sector in a key month for business meetings between the offer and demand. A total of 58,150 professionals took part, that is 18% more than last year, and 1,238 companies, an increase of 20%. The trade fair fulfilled its objective of being an effective business scenario for agents in the sector. Organised by IFEMA and FEPEX, Fruit Attraction 2016, which was held from 5 to 7 October, was the biggest and most complete of all the editions, with an exhibition area covering 40,000 square metres – that is 19.5% larger than last year’s event.
    In terms of international participation, there was an increase of more than 17%, with a total of 10,085 trade professionals from 102 countries. Among foreign visitors, Europeans predominated, particularly those from Italy, France, Portugal, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland and Belgium, confirming the fair as a key business event for European production, marketing and distribution. There were also numerous trade professionals from Brazil and Morocco at this edition.
    From Spain, the five best-represented Autonomous Regions were Andalusia, Madrid, Valencia, Murcia and Catalonia, accounting for 40% of visitors.

  • IFEMA and Fruit Attraction work with the Food Bank of Madrid for the eighth consecutive year
    As part of IFEMA's Corporate Social Responsibility Policy, the purpose of this charitable initiative is to gather surplus produce from the Trade Fair
    At the 2015 edition, the Food Bank received donations of 30,200 kilos of fruit and vegetables from exhibitors at Fruit Attraction for charitable purposes, 5,000 more than at the previous edition.
    For the eighth year in a row, IFEMA and Fruit Attraction are joining forces with the Food Bank of Madrid in a charitable initiative to collect surplus produce from the exhibition, which will be held from 5 to 7 October.

    Seven months before the event, Fruit Attraction has already sold 13% more space than last year and is expecting a 20% increase by the time the show opens

    There are still seven months to go before the 8th edition of Fruit Attraction begins. The event, which will be held from 5 to 7 October, has already sold 13% more space than last year, when it occupied a total of 33,046 square metres. The Organisers’ Committee, which is made up of IFEMA, FEPEX, representatives of the member Associations of this Federation, of distributors’ associations, retailers and markets, has confirmed that the figures are looking extremely healthy for 2016 edition. This will be most global edition ever, with an expected 1,200 exhibitor companies from 30 countries and 55,000 trade attendees from 100 countries.
